Whoo-hoo!

Just got off the phone with White Squirrel, the fulfillment warehouse for this project, to confirm that the books have arrived there safe and sound! Hoo-ray!

Shipping will start on March 1st. Addresses will be locked starting on that day, so please triple, quadruple, and quintuple-check that your details are correct in Backerkit!

Again, once your order ships, you'll receive an email with a unique tracking link for your package. Your stuff's coming home!

As always, thank you all for your support and enthusiasm throughout this project!

For folks also wondering when the bonus Kickstarter adventures will be ready, we're nearly done! It's a lot of writing, and it's in the process of being edited and proofed right now! There will be future updates in this space as soon as they're available for download for you, rest assured.

The books are now in Seattle!

Hey everyone!

There's been an understandable uptick in commenting backers asking — rightfully so — as to where on earth their stuff is. Well:

The books have arrived in Seattle!

They just need to be put on a truck and sent over to White Squirrel (the fulfillment warehouse), which is just a few miles away. I was previously given an estimated warehouse delivery date of the 23rd, but if they’re early with it this time, that’s even better (and richly earned).

This process has been agonizing for everyone: for you as well as for me. We are all at the mercy of the US shipping network, which has, frankly, buckled in the last few months under the increasing weight of the ongoing global pandemic, holiday rushes, and political stressors.

The worst thing is that this has been, and continues to be, entirely out of my control. I am in a position where the only thing I can do is send emails, call Fedex, and reply to your comments while we collectively wait for your orders to ship. To everyone who has shown unrelenting understanding and compassion: thank you. Your continued patience and understanding are earnestly appreciated.

To recap, we're in this position because of printer errors that forced me to delay sending the books to the warehouse from early October (on time) to mid November. That printer-caused delay put us in the throws of the holiday shopping season, as well as the unpredictable political turmoil and instability following the US 2020 election. These events, coupled with the pre-existing pandemic stress, has made the shipping of this final bit of content impossible to predict.

Everything else has been at the warehouse for months and is ready to ship once the books arrive in the next few days. Every piece of physical content from this project has been correctly scheduled and completed on time.

We all continue to be in this position together for the next few days, and I thank you again for your continued patience and understanding. I promise you, truly, that I am fighting for you each and every day, and that I am doing my absolute best to corral Fedex and get accurate (prompt!) delivery dates for you. As soon as I get the confirmation that the books have arrived at White Squirrel, so will you. That update will also prompt the final 24-hour countdown for you to confirm your shipping addresses one last time!

Again, your continued understanding and patience has been deeply felt and appreciated. When your items ship from the warehouse in the coming days, you'll receive the confirmation email in your inbox that will include the tracking number for your order.

Whoo-hoo! Books are moving again!

Hey everyone!

Since the last update, we've been pressuring the shipping carriers a) find these books and b) figure out what's gone on with them. It turns out that they were stuck in a freight train impasse in Chicago for 10+ days: a symptom of pandemic-stressed carrier networks mixed with backlogs of holiday shipments. After a lot of pressure from my good friends at the Deck of Many, our contacts at Fedex got the books moving again this morning! Yes!

We don't have a precise estimate on their arrival in Washington, but it's been suggested that the books should reach the warehouse (for real this time!) by Monday the 8th!

Now, those of you that also preordered content from the Deck of Many after the Kickstarter ended will be happy to know that they've had their books since early December and have been (very patiently!) waiting for the Kickstarter rewards to start shipping. It's always been important to me to make sure that backers  never felt cheated or cut in front of, so both sets of backer and Deck of Many preorders will be shipping out simultaneously. The Deck of Many doesn't have everything in stock quick yet (no deck boxes, pins, or totes), but they'll be getting them as soon as your Kickstarter orders have finished being shipped. Basically everything extra from the first warehouse will be moved to the Deck of Many's instead.

Because the Deck of Many has been so patient so far (to their expense!), we decided that if the books still haven't reached the warehouse by the 10th (god forbid), that the Deck of Many could start shipping out their preorders anyway. Again, I don't have reason to think that this will come to pass, as Fedex is watching these books very closely, but that is the plan just in case it comes to that.

You've all continued to be nothing short of truly excellent, and I can't wait for you to get these books, cards, and more in your hands! And I promise, Book 2's shipping process will be much smoother. ;)

Shipping update!

Hey everyone!

Man, did you know that shipping a lot of stuff takes a lot of time? Especially nowadays when everything is being sent to peoples' homes around the world.

I was just informed that the estimated arrival time, which was the 7th originally, is now the 20th. Luckily, that's only 5 days away! Again, I am so grateful for your patience!

Because of the distance that these books have traveled over sea and land, they've been passed between several companies. As a result, I don't have a tracking number to give you (which I did ask for!) because they all use different methods of tracking. I do promise to let you all know as soon as they get to the warehouse! Sometimes the nice folks there send along images when they arrive, so I'll be sure to share anything that they send me, too. When I get that confirmation from then, I'll also send out the final check on shipping addresses.

Just wanted to let you all know where things were, and explain why I haven't sent out the 24-hour last call update yet! Thank you to everyone for your patience so far, and doubly so to those of you who've verified that your shipping information is correct!

The books are getting close to the warehouse! Is your address correct on Backerkit?

Hey everyone!

Everything should be arriving at the warehouse later this week, meaning that fulfillment can start soon (if not immediately) after! That means it's time for you to double/triple check your address as it's written on Backerkit!

Your shipping information

Remember that you can change this up until items being shipping, so take the couple of minutes now and check on it now!

• Just log into Backerkit using the credentials you did before. Backerkit uses the same email address to log in as your Kickstarter account does, unless you've changed it on Backerkit since then. For 99% of you, this won't be an issue.
• If you have trouble, pull up the earlier survey emails you received from Backerkit and use the link there to sign in.
• From there you'll be able to see this project and your information as I see it. Make sure it's accurate!

I really don't want to manually change any of your details because that introduces a new opportunity for human error, especially if you're outside of the USA and format your addresses differently than I'm familiar with. So please do your best to verify and change it on your own first before sending me a message asking to do it for you!

I'll post another update when I'm less than 24 hours from locking addresses (meaning you won't be able to change them anymore). But, like I said, just take the few moments now to do it and save yourself the panic later!

Tracking Numbers

You will receive a tracking number when your parcel(s) are shipped! If you ordered anything from the Deck of Many, those will also begin shipping at the same time that your Kickstarter rewards do. They're shipping from different locations (thousands of miles apart), so it won't be unusual to have there be differences in arrival times if you ordered from multiple sources!
