Ledger+ Alpha and Pledge Manager: online! Survey Smoke Test and Late Pledges are ready!
almost 4 years ago – Tue, Apr 28, 2020 at 08:48:24 PM

You. Are. Great.

Thanks for your patience! It's been two weeks already, and I know you're eager to customize your rewards! Let me start out by saying that everything is on pace and looking good. This update will cover what's happening right now with Backerkit (our pledge manager), upcoming backer surveys, and an update on shipping.

Late Backers: ready!

You can access the pre-order shop here and make a late pledge!

Are you a backer? You may be an early survey tester.

So check your email!  A select few of you are randomly selected from across pledge tiers to fill in your surveys and select add-ons early. This helps smoke out any potential flaws with the pledge manager before 8,000 people jump into it at once, hence the name "Smoke Tests".

All remaining surveys will go out in the next few days.

After the Smoke Test, all backers will be able to access their pledge surveys!

With your survey, you'll be able to:

  • Fill out your address.
  • Enter in your name as you want it shown in the PDF's backer credits.
  • Choose what decks of cards or deck boxes you want included with your respective pledge.

After you enter your information, you'll be able to go to the <b>add-ons section</b>, where you'll be able to add a bunch of exciting stuff to your pledges, including:

  • Saddlebag enamel pins
  • Saddlebag stickers
  • The Saddlebag tote
  • Deck boxes
  • Individual packs of cards

And more!

The Ledger+ Alpha is live!

This alpha does not include Access Code capabilities yet. That's a feature being developed! However, you can check out the Ledger+ now at ledger.thegriffonssaddlebag.com! Everyone can view free items, and if you sign up with an account, you can start saving them into "stashes" for easier organization and inventory tracking.

If you support the effort on Patreon and are a $9+ patron, you'll have full access to the almost 500 magic items available from the Saddlebag on the Ledger+! When the platform is out of its early release, all $7+ patrons will have access to it. Just connect your L+ and Patreon accounts, and you're set!

Of course, if you backed this project, you'll be getting Access Codes that let you search, sort, and save the 365 item in this book on the Ledger+ forever, without becoming a patron! Those will be available in the next few months as support for that feature is further developed.

Alright, the last thing:

My shipping rates have gone up since the project launched because of COVID-19. I'm covering the difference.

So many people are out of work or struggling because of this global event. The last thing I want to do is put any of you in an unexpected and frustrated position. No one needs that. The world is scary, and I want to make sure you have this content to enrich your escapism. You've supported me, and I'm proud to be able to return the favor.

If you are feeling generous and want to help reduce this extra load, thank you! Any amount of money donated through the "Tip Jar" add-on item will go directly toward that shipping bill, but in general, an extra $3 a person would be enough to cover the difference between everyone's increased shipping costs.

Again, you're all amazing. Thank you again for being here, for being a part of this community, and for all of your support! Keep on adventuring!

Campaign Wrap-Up: What to Expect, and Where to Go
about 4 years ago – Thu, Apr 16, 2020 at 06:20:51 AM

Hey everyone! Thank you again so much for your excitement and support! I wanted to give you another heads up on what to expect moving forward so we're all on the same page with what to expect, when.

But first, be sure to check out the other few Kickstarters that are going on now that may also interest you!

Phase 1: Late Pledges And Order Customization

Backerkit is the pledge manager I'm using for this campaign. Once it launches on April 26th, you'll receive an email notification about it and be prompted to finish setting up your order. I'll also post an update here so you can be sure to see it. This will let you:

  • Customize your pledge's card packs.
  • Customize or add on Deck Boxes.
  • Add totes, pins, and stickers to your order.
  • Add more books.
  • Get additional Ledger+ Access Codes.

The Backerkit phase will be open until the end of May. This doesn't affect the timeline, and has always been part of the plan. This makes sure that everyone interested in the campaign can get exactly what they're looking for with their pledges. Once the Backerkit page closes, we move onto...

Phase 2: Manufacturing and Printing

This is when I start sending out final counts and orders to manufacturers. Once the books go out to print, you'll receive your PDFs via email.

The Ledger+ platform is going into its initial Alpha launch this month. $9+ patrons will have access to the platform first, with all $7+ patrons eventually getting that access as well when it officially launches. You will receive your Access Codes when the platform officially launches. Current timelines are suggesting late July or early August, but as always, I'll keep you up to date on developments with it.

The stretch goal adventures and content will be released online when they're ready. Probably around the same time as the Ledger+ Access Codes are sent out.

There are a lot of different manufacturers making these things, so keeping them organized is a bit of a challenge. Many fulfillment companies bill you for the space you take up in their warehouses with your products every week, and since this is a fairly big project with a lot of products from numerous manufactures with varying delivery times, that made it a significant barrier for me in choosing a fulfillment company for my first campaign. The last thing I want to do is fail to deliver on anything, which is why I went with...

Phase 3: Fulfillment

I've partnered with White Squirrel for fulfillment on this project. They're based in Washington state here in the US and offer competitive shipping rates within the country. As many of you were frustrated by, their international rates are not good. However, their gracious policy with free warehousing until fulfillment was a significant weight off my mind and gave me more confidence in pursuing the extra add-on options like the Totes and Deck Boxes.

For my first project, I'm confident that this was the right choice. In future book campaigns, you can be certain that I'll be more prepared with a global shipping partner to ensure that everyone around the world has equal access to this content. Everyone who ordered their rewards internationally despite the high shipping rates: thank you. I am so grateful that you care that much, and I promise to do what I can to make it easier for you in the future.

Once every product has made it to the White Squirrel warehouses, they'll begin to package them and ship them out to you. There are currently no expected delays in shipping, but I will always keep you aware of new developments.

What's next?

I start on Phase 1 and get the Backerkit page set up and ready for you. You can expect weekly or bi-weekly updates on this project so you know that I'm alive and working on it. Right now, everything is on schedule!

As always, thank you again for your continued interest! If you want to start getting access to this digital content, consider becoming a patron for as little as $1 and help support the daily effort I put in to making these items and other content for you!

Thank you again, and keep on adventuring!

Last chance! The final 48 hours, and what happens next!
about 4 years ago – Thu, Apr 09, 2020 at 09:55:09 PM

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for the support these last 28 days! It's now the final 48 hours of the campaign: if you haven't made your selection for the pledge tiers, now's your chance!

A few things to make clear, and to alleviate concerns about what happens after the next campaign wraps up:

  • To get the free Ledger+ Access Code that was given to everyone at the first $50k stretch goal, you must be pledged at the PDF tier or higher. This only affects people who have pledged at the custom level for anything lower than that. It will be emailed to you when the platform launches. Current estimation is sometime in July or August.
  • The bonus adventures will be released digitally for you and everyone else on the internet sometime in July or August. Potentially at the same time as your Ledger+ codes are sent out.
  • It takes 2 weeks for Kickstarter to bill, process, and move funds after the campaign ends. Once everyone's pledges go through, Backerkit will be accessible for you to add on any extra cards, totes, books, pins, stickers, etc. For those costs, check out the campaign description.
  • You can pick through the items on Backerkit like an online store. Anything you select will be tacked onto your pledge rewards and sent together.
  • Backerkit will be open for several weeks once it starts. This puts your final deadlines to select your rewards near the end of May. This gives everyone ample time to pick and choose what they're interested in. The shipping dates are unaffected by this timeline.

You will always receive updates here regarding these timelines, releases, and processes. If you have any more questions, please feel free to message me either here or on the social media platform of your choice.

As always, thank you so much for your excitement and support, and keep on adventuring!
